The Virtual Museum of Architecture (VMA) Main location: (SLurl) At SL9B: (SLurl)

The Virtual Museum of Architecture (VMA) is a SecondLife entity that is dedicated to the education and exploration of various types of architecture.

Born from the Frank Lloyd Wright Virtual Museum, the VMA has expanded its interest into other styles of architecture, such as 19th Century Plantations, Sustainable Homes following LEEDS guidelines, the Art Deco designs of commercial buildings in the 1920s and most recently, the eclectic styles of Drive-in Restaurants of the 1950s.

Here in SecondLife, the VMA has a campus where we rotate our displays and hold educational lectures and fun building contests. We'd love to have you stop by and visit.

Tahby Photography has a really nice promotional plot at SL9B (SLurl). Simple and to the point, while being pleasing to the eye. And I enjoyed the relaxing athmosphere. They have a free gift.

I have been watching the development of the build in my neighboring plot and waiting to have a chance to visit. This build must have the best view on SL9b. You walk a long slide up, and all the while sigh at the breath taking look you get over the sims. And there is a hud in the works for the top platform. I found a lift, too. Fittingly the build is called The Engine of the Gods (SLurl).

SL9B Friendly Chatter Café

My SL9B plot, the Friendly Chatter Café (SLurl) is finally done. I was going to spend two days on it, but got a bit "inspired" with all the treats and drinks and gifts etc. I hope you can visit at some point. SL9B is a huge celebration with a bunch of sims full of attractions and entertainment. But I figured, everyone needs a break sometimes. :) With so much to see, even virtual legs get tired sometimes. The sims open for public on 18th of June, 2012. SL9B ends 27th of June. Have fun!

 Not that there has been time for many breaks. Have been building like a busy bee for days now. Hope to see you visit, when the sims open 18th June. You will get free treats and drinks (for tinies and biggies), and free gifts. The picture is a sneak peek at what the café looks like. There is room for several groups to enjoy themselves and talk to friends or meet new people. Or you can park there while you go afk.

A lot to see at the SL9B. Our neighbors are really interesting. There is a huge light tower right next to the café that is going to be awesome. And on the other side an artistic looking pyramid. There's some really cool pop art in a big circle on a field close by. And so much more. Plus there are so many sims to see. Take a pod and have a look. :) Keep an eye out for events. Lot's of entertainers have signed up. Live music, dj's etc. And volunteer greeters giving gifts and advice. This is gonna be an awesome event!

LEA gives land for art again this spring

Linden donates 20 regions for art in Second Life again, via LEA Full Region Endowment, says Bryn Oh (Website). If you are an artist, curator, musician, performer, scripter.. you can get land for a project for the period of March 15th to August 15th, if the committee approves your application. Submit before March 1st. Good luck :)

Stuff of Legends

Brews & Blues (SLurl) has been one of my favorite SL clubs for a while now. Excellent dj's, lovely atmosphere and a community that feels like a family keeps us regulars coming back again and again. Some even live on the sim. These pictures show a couple of the gorgeous houseboats you can rent to live in. There are two spots for dancing, the big club hall and the beach platform.

The location also houses some small businesses in lovely cottages with a route to the rest of the sim. Among those businesses is an art gallery I wanted to show you. The Blue Moo (SLurl) is a creative outlet for Margee, a rl musician, who enjoys making Photoshop art while listening to blues. Works include portraits of such musical figures as Kelvinblue Oh, a dearly missed SL Blues Legend, Eric Sardinas, Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Joe Bonamassa.

Amazing art is showcased on SL all the time. One place with great examples from several talented artists is Gallery shop, click on paintings and other works to see if you get their info card about individual exhibitions. There are some cool things for sale too. I got all snaphappy in the gorgeous surroundings.

I was running after a lil rabbit

I was running after a lil rabbit at Raglan shire (SLurl) today and found a store (SLurl) that has so many cute clothes for tinies and Loco Poco's AVs. The store is called Mish mish (Mainstore SLurl). Elephant is very happy with her new dress.

By The Way: Info about Imprudence, Beautiful pictures

Did you see the amazing winner pictures of Where it begins?

Love the talent. Congrats. :)

Imprudence users need to get the newest version. Here is a quote from their site.

Imprudence 1.3.2 is now available. This is a maintenance release to addresses several issues in the 1.3-series Imprudence viewer, including an exploit that could allow griefers to crash the viewer with a specially-constructed ogg-vorbis file. If you are using Imprudence 1.3, you should definitely update to 1.3.2! If you are using Imprudence Experimental 1.4, you should consider using 1.3.2 until we release Imprudence 1.4 beta 1 (expected later this week or next week).

There is great art

Hanaya sells all kinds of interesting things, and the store is beautifully decorated with amazing details. There is great art on display upstairs. They take part in hunts and charity events. Note the gatchas. I think you will enjoy visiting, I know I did.

SL cares

The creative community of SL has come together amazingly fast and in great numbers to raise money for the charities helping people in Japan and other tsunami and earthquake affected areas.

One big fundraising event gathering a lot of attention right now is the Pacific Crisis Fundraiser (SLurl). 100% of all money raised will go to the charity AmeriCares.
